As a community of creative musicians, we came together to form Ditmas Park Music Teachers Collective with the primary goal of supporting each other. We wanted to challenge the idea that we must be competitive with one another, by sharing resources, advertising together, and more.
The primary resource we have as independent teachers is the community we already teach in. By publicly showing our support for each other as a collective, we hope to also show you, our clients, the value we place on community, and on growing something we all can share. We all live in and around Ditmas Park, and we want to build something special here in our neighborhood.
Our collective is designed to build a connection between teachers and their community. Taking a lesson with a teacher from the Ditmas Park Music Teachers Collective means purchasing that teacher’s service directly. Each teacher has their own rates and policies, though our values are attuned and aligned. The primary goals of our collective are to help each other reach potential clients and to grow something powerful in our community. Think of us as a free community referral service!
